Writing and Rambling

Today is the start of a BRAND NEW DAY
Well, of course, I woke up and that is MAGICAL in itself but we start fresh today.

After 2 weeks of embarrassing myself in front of my new guests in the new job, trying to explain to EVERYONE, "I don't have any tickets for great big sea".......

The show is over, done, final cord played, the ovations over, the final guitar picked passed to that last crazy guest, the bows have been taken, GOOD NIGHT MONCTON.

Now, we move forward. I SMILE. I LAUGH. I ENJOY MY NEW JOB.
Not that I haven't been LOVING IT, however, it makes it extremely difficult to start in new shoes when your still forced to wear the others ones.
I realized that this was going to be an issue, but I took it all in stride and I tried my very best, to wear the happy face, the bright smile, the SHOW FACE as it were and moved on until Feb.18th was put to rest.

The ironic part is I have dreamed of seeing them for many years now. How I would have LOVED to see my nannies face last night as I clapped and sang and cried my way from the back of the house, watching the boys.
You see, I have never felt so close to my Newfoundland roots then I did last night.
You see, if your not aware, Newfie's are a funny, but EXTREMELY PROUD bunch of folks.
They are the most friendly, charming and funny people you will possibly meet in your lifetime.
They enjoy LIFE. Period. They know how to laugh and love, although hard times are not far away for them either. So, I believe that they take JOY and HAPPINESS over the bad.
Last night, it occurred to me that despite not being from the East Coast "OFFICIALLY" born or raised here, I AM FROM THE EAST COAST. Have always loved the music, the culture and have felt welcomed here every time we visited.

Now that I call it my home currently, I have come full circle.
My family has never been more PROUD and HONORED to be from this lovely place, where the food is fresh, I mean it probably swam a few hours ago before you slam that lobster down your gullet, the air is clean and the faces, for the most part, friendly and kind and ALWAYS willing to help out.

Years have passed and I have had to struggle with people trying to shut me down for the way I was raised, speak to people, make them feel welcome, talk with them....however I have found that is EXACTLY what people WANT and THAT is my true gift.
And with that gift, I now get to shine and show everyone what I am all about.

So, to my family, THANK YOU for raising me with my East Coast culture and beliefs and to the world........I invite you to Moncton to visit so I can show you what I am all about.
